We come from a family of Brewers…
Brewing at Toro Canyon Breweries is a family affair. Our great-grandparents emigrated from Bavaria, where the Hacker family ancestors opened their first Munich brewery in 1417 (for some interesting history here). Through the generations, while the knowledge of ancient brewery was lost in the Americas and ironically replaced by home distilling and other shenanigans in the 20s in rural Iowa, our love of good beer has not.
Our little picobrewery nestled in the hills of west of Austin pays homage to that heritage. We craft our brews using only the freshest hops and grains and the most flavorful malts (you can read more about our brewing processes here). We do not sell our beers in any stores at this time, instead we barter and trade our fare with like minded beer lovers!
